Tour Description
Shark cage diving in Gansbaai should be on the top of your bucket list. The top-rated destination to cage dive with great white sharks remains Gansbaai. This small fishing village is also known as the Capital or Mecca of the Great White Shark. Gansbaai is a beautiful 2 ½ hour drive from the Cape Town City Centre.
A MSP Tours and Travels representative/driver will meet you at the pickup location communicated after booking. The driver will drop you at Gansbaai and the shark diving instructors will takeover the tour.
Your tour will start at the Kleinbaai harbour, just outside the town of Gansbaai. A light breakfast and good coffee await you on arrival. During breakfast, the indemnity forms are signed, and a dive briefing given by our qualified crew. All this takes about 30 minutes to an hour. After a short walk down the road, you will board the boat and set off for adventure.
The boat ride takes about 20 minutes. Remember to take seasickness tablets before the tour if you are prone to motion sickness. After anchoring the boat, the crew starts chumming for sharks and hand out dive gear.
Shark Cage Diving
Once the sharks arrive, everybody gets to take turns to go in the cage. Most cages take between 5 and 8 persons at a time. Don’t worry if you don’t want to go into the cage. The boat-based viewing is impressive, and you will have plenty of photo opportunities. Kids from age 10 can join in the cage diving fun.
Back on land, a light lunch and clean showers are ready for you to enjoy. During lunch, you get to see the video that the onboard media crew filmed. Your trip video is available for purchase, but you are welcome to bring your camera or rent a GoPro from us.
What to bring: Warm jacket, sunscreen and hat, swimming costume, camera, seasickness tablets if prone to motion sickness
What you get: Light Meal/pre tour snacks on arrival, snacks and drinks on board, full dive gear, towel, light lunch after trip whilst you watch your DVD of your day trip.
